Our Art and Design school was founded in 1886, which makes us look back on a long lasting tradition of studying art and designing objects, visual communication and spaces. The Escola Municipal d’Art i Disseny Terrassa is a public body embedded in the administration of the city town hall of Terrassa and started participating in International Mobilities in 2014. Since then we have improved our contacts to partner schools all over Europe and modernize our institution in order to be able to welcome International students, assuring a comparable course catalogue with digital and cultural approaches, as well as the quality of learning itself.
As we are a relatively small school, we manage to offer quite a close, personal and inclusive treatment to our students. We offer Higher Education courses (CFGS in Spanish, Catalan and partly in English) specialized in Graphic and Interactive Design, 3D Design and Model Making, as well as Interior and Ephemeral Design. We promote our studies with an international projection supported by the Erasmus Plus program of the European Union. Our institution pursues to train future professionals with an openminded and creative attitude, with solid knowledge and digital skills, with a social and ecological commitment prepared to join modern, international and future orientated work frames.
Terrassa, is the city capital of the Vallès Oriental (approx. 220.000 citizens), in the province of Barcelona and an area of historical interest, especially for its remaining Roman and Art Nouveau architecture and surrounded by the well cared National Park Sant Llorenç del Munt i l’Obac. The Escola Municipal d’Art i Disseny Terrassa is located in the neighborhood of several faculties of the Barcelona University (UPC), student residences, the youth hostel, sharing the building with the ESCAC Foundation (Cinema and Audiovisual School of Catalonia) and in 5 min. walking distance to the train station, offering a steady connection to Barcelona’s city center.
Don’t miss the chance to learn more about our school, our town and the always warm welcoming of Catalan culture.
In September 2014 our School obtained the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education for the period 2014-2020, which allows us to continue participating, as has been done so far, in the Erasmus + programs this period, and in others of the European Union (practices in European companies, mobility, exchanges, international projects, …)
